November 15 Evening “Strengthen, O God, that which thou hast wrought for us.” - Psalm 68:28 It is our wisdom, as well as our necessity, to beseech God continually to strengthen that which he has wrought in us. It is because of their neglect in this, that many Christians may blame themselves for those trials and afflictions of spirit which arise from unbelief. It is true that Satan seeks to flood the fair garden of the heart and make it a scene of desolation, but it is also true that many Christians leave open the sluice-gates themselves, and let in the dreadful deluge through carelessness and want of prayer to their strong Helper. We often forget that the Author of our faith must be the Preserver of it also. The lamp which was burning in the temple was never allowed to go out, but it had to be daily replenished with fresh oil; in like manner, our faith can only live by being sustained with the oil of grace, and we can only obtain this from God himself. Foolish virgins we shall prove, if we do not secure the needed sustenance for our lamps. He who built the world upholds it, or it would fall in one tremendous crash; he who made us Christians must maintain us by his Spirit, or our ruin will be speedy and final. Let us, then, evening by evening, go to our Lord for the grace and strength we need. We have a strong argument to plead, for it is his own work of grace which we ask him to strengthen-”that which thou hast wrought for us.” Think you he will fail to protect and sustain that? Only let your faith take hold of his strength, and all the powers of darkness, led on by the master fiend of hell, cannot cast a cloud or shadow over your joy and peace. Why faint when you may be strong? Why suffer defeat when you may conquer? Oh! take your wavering faith and drooping graces to him who can revive and replenish them, and earnestly pray, “Strengthen, O God, that which thou hast wrought for us.”http://www.ccel.org/ccel/spurgeon/morneve.d1115pm.html New Life Daily Devotion - Aug. 24, 2009 Overcommitted? Don’t burn out; keep yourselves fueled and aflame. Be alert servants of the Master, cheerfully expectant. Don’t quit in hard times; pray all the harder. Romans 12:11-12 MSG Do you have too many things on your to-do list and too few hours in which to do them? If so, it’s time to take a long, hard look at the way you’re prioritizing your days and your life. The world encourages you to rush full-speed ahead, taking on lots of new commitments, doing many things, but doing few things well. God, on the other hand, encourages you to slow down, to quiet yourself, and to spend time with Him. And you can be sure that God’s way is best. How will you organize your life? Will you carve out quiet moments with the Creator? And while you’re at it, will you focus your energies and your resources on only the most important tasks on your to-do list? Or will you max out your schedule, leaving much of your most important work undone? Today, slow yourself down and commit more time to God. When you do, you’ll be amazed at how the Father can revolutionize your life when you start spending more time with Him. Life is strenuous. See that your clock does not run down. Mrs. Charles E. Last Saturday was Supermodelme.tv Finals at Zouk. Got in slightly after 9pm with a drink coupon and the UV stamp on my hand and ready to fire up my phone camera for the action: I'm just doing a test shot, pardon the poker face ha ha The stage was all set for the catwalk and performance: Models appeared with loud dance tracks and hip shaking movements!! emcees appeared and the crowd started to cheer upon seeing how the male emcee dressed.. yes.. he was wearing a skirt or sort... captured the TV screen for upclose viewing than a extremely long shot on the phone, while doing the live feed via Twitter and Facebook all thanks to Starhub MaxMobile value added service and the kind folks of RippleVox which gave me prizes*!! It was a interesting sight to see someone giving the one finger salute when the camera was on her ha ha.. what a view indeed... sorry no image for that quick move =P Here's Evelyn being interviewed by the male emcee: Soon, the models were shuttled to the dressing room and the cameras went to steal some shots of the models changing.. no wardrobe malfunction though ha ha... lots of careful adjustments but nothing to reveal! Male models accessorized the Supermodelme.tv finalist as they stride down the catwalk in all glamor and style.. poker face with glances at the cameras. The atmosphere was getting really heated when they appeared in bikinis and the male models having their hands on the bodies of the models and have them pose for the cameras!! oh yeah, no naughty poses but only classy poses of good taste and elegance =) Emcees announced a 15 mins break where voting begins and decisions are made. I made some friends and mingled around, returning to the scene just in time... To many folks' delight Evelyn wins!! She's the winner of the inaugural Supermodelme.tv event!! She deserves it! (Romans 1:16) By Dr. Bob Moorehead Since 1 July 2009, Singapore library allows 2 audio visual materials to be loan out to each account.
I borrowed an audiobook and returned it to another branch then the branch i borrowed from, which is ok. A day later, I recieved a call saying 1 of the 5 CDs in the audiobook is missing from the audiobook.
I looked around my home and office but am unable to find the missing CD. I probably need to set aside $70 or more to pay for the lost of the item, the entire audiobook + administrative charge. During the time, I prayed briefly regarding the matter and asked the Lord to intervene and help the library and me to find the CD, and I told the Lord if I have to pay for the lost item, I would.
I called the person from the library looking into the matter just a while ago and he reckons that the CD might be lost in transit between one branch to another and told me he would write off the incident from my record and I would not need to pay for the missing item.
All I can say is "Thank you God for Your grace!" July 13, 2009 The Price of the Vision In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord . . . —Isaiah 6:1 Our soul’s personal history with God is often an account of the death of our heroes. Over and over again God has to remove our friends to put Himself in their place, and that is when we falter, fail, and become discouraged. Let me think about this personally— when the person died who represented for me all that God was, did I give up on everything in life? Did I become ill or disheartened? Or did I do as Isaiah did and see the Lord? My vision of God is dependent upon the condition of my character. My character determines whether or not truth can even be revealed to me. Before I can say, "I saw the Lord," there must be something in my character that conforms to the likeness of God. Until I am born again and really begin to see the kingdom of God, I only see from the perspective of my own biases. What I need is God’s surgical procedure— His use of external circumstances to bring about internal purification. Your priorities must be God first, God second, and God third, until your life is continually face to face with God and no one else is taken into account whatsoever. Your prayer will then be, "In all the world there is no one but You, dear God; there is no one but You." Keep paying the price. Let God see that you are willing to live up to the vision. Hooray!! I collected my Nokia 5800 yesterday. It was one of the trial phone sets.. so the previous user's sms inbox, images and muisc were still resident in the not some perfect phone ;P
Well, I found out how to hard reset the phone and formatted the 8Gb mircosd card and upgraded the firmware all in one night.... only to discover the Nokia 5800 does not have Internet Radio.. sigh.. i suppose when Nokia Comes With Music license is made available for my use I might not miss K-Love (internet radio) so much.. maybe...
I went to have a screen protector applied on the 320 x 640 pixel touchscreen to prevent more scratches than the ones I saw.. oh well.. what can I say?
Some things that I do like:
3.5mm earphone jack means i can plug in my earphone/speakers' cables directly unlike the 2.5mm on the E71.
320 x 640 pixel big screen
superior camera functions compared to iPhone and E71
the clock is displayed in all menus unlike E71 which I had to download a freeware to display the clock throughout all screens.
I would tell you more as I hang on to this nice toy... surely it will be great with Mobipocket reader installed to read ebooks!
yups 1st time taking a plane with a tv screen in fromt of me ha ha but i would have seen most of the movies ;P
Anyhow, i'm waiting for my prizes; Starhub goodiie bag from Terminator movie Nokia 5800 Greenday CD hamper from 987FM
Hope it happens b4 i leave else i might miss the smses
Ok boring entry i know ;P Imagine being able to be one of the first to watch Terminator Salvation… It is reality for me and my friend when my Facebook photo with Terminator theme won a pair of tickets in Ripplevox’s contest!! There was free Coke Zero and Pizza Hut pizza for the participants at the Fan Night at Golden Village, Marina Square. Fans get to answer Terminator quizzes and stand a chance to win prizes from Sony, who brought in the movie. Figurines of various Terminator robots and movie characters were on display and I saw many fans snapping photos of them! A gentleman came for the event in a jacket with a Terminator robot image on it! He’s jacket is most likely an imported item! The doors to the cinema opened slightly after 9pm and we were ushered into the hall. A movie poster of Terminator Salvation is on every seat in the hall!! It’s an awesome poster! Not the usual skull poster.. Shortly the lights were dimmed and a heart pounding music came on. It lasted less than a minute and thereafter the lights came back on. Viola! A line of pizza delivery riders lined the front of the hall. “Terminate your hunger with Pizza Hut” was the punch line. Ha ha.. it’s quite a cute line! They gave out a miniature pizza box liken those we would get when we order delivery. Therein was a badge, a voucher to purchase a pizza for $15, a sticker with a flame as design and a promotional flyer. After this, several movie trailers came on the screen and then when the lights were turned down.. I can feel the excitement in the air.. it’s like getting ready for an adventure.. I’m quite sure many of you would feel the same way when you “feel” the movie start up... No spoilers of course. Christian Bale did well in the movie. Sam Worthington, the other main character in this movie showed how it is to be given a second chance. Both guys acted well and I enjoyed the quick moves of up close combats. It’s quite a guy kinda show especially with weapons, robots, a hot chick, (Blair Williams -her debut to big screen) explosions and car chases. Trust me that though it may have lots of computer generated graphics (especially with a familiar robot from California in good shape… get my drift? ha ha), the movie is worth every single buck of your experience. You may want to do some reading of Terminator 1 – 3 if you have forgotten the story. It’ll help you follow Terminator Salvation better. Thumbs Up and Thanks so much Ripplevox for giving me the opportunity to catch Terminator Salvation at Fan Night Screening!!! Ripplevox rocks my world!! Oh yeah! Hi dear friends, As you would know, I enjoy being part of a community on www.ripplevox.com There was a contest recently to participate in a Terminator – Salvation Fans’ Night (2 tickets & goodie bags). I have to design a photo of myself with the theme of Terminator and then post on Facebook and be the top 10 with the most number of “Like” (votes) I’m not good with graphics.. but I came up with this photo: Also earlier this year I was part of a Nokia N85 phone trial with Starhub. 987 radio station called me to get my soundbite after the one month trial and Ripplevox told me that Starhub, would “reward” me with a free Nokia phone, most likely to be the same model I was using during the trial. I’m overjoyed to see the message from Facebook today: All praise and thanks to the Lord! Eddie yeah Marco got me a gift from Down Under when he went to his graduation ceremony for his Bsc =) I like this little gift. So me yeah?? Cough mixture, anti biotic, phlegm and running nose medications...
I feel lousy.. last night had a very tough time falling asleep.. runny nose and cough are not easy to put to sleep ha ha remember that i re-contracted my Starhub home broadband for 2 more yrs and I have a free 32"LCD TV?? It arrived at 10pm on Friday night!! I'm so excited and am please with it!! It rocks my world!! my colleague brought back a Hong Kong hobby magazine for Marco and so I found a new Gloomy Bear plush toy and thought I would share the image with you. Isn't Gloomy sweet?? =) I took leave today on 13 Mar 09 to be in the 1st 200 to get a 32" Samsung LCD TV as a free gift!! I stood (more like sitting on the carpet floor...) in line and was the 7th person in the Q for Starhub's rooms to be opened at 11am. It was just a little before 9am when I sat and wait.. My Nokia phone downloaded Fring and was Skyping my colleagues and making VOIP calls and surfing HardWareZone forums and Facebook at the same time. The Starhub in charge came out around 10.30am saying he has briefed his staff and maybe able to serve us earlier than 11am. And true enough, I was served and by 11.10am, I was done. Yeah! a 32" LCD TV.. cool! Now I can watch my movies and TV series on big screen with my Mac plugged into the 32" baby!! The Body Shop warehouse sale is at a room/hall next to Starhub and so I went by and bought some stuff. =) Heavy shopping... and not to mention, I have to make payment for my Taiwan trip in June today.. oh boy.. don't peep into my bank account now! you might see only single digits ha ha Artisan™ Portrait of the Promoter (ESTP)There are lots of Promoters, maybe ten or so percent of the population, and life is never dull around them. In a word, they are men and women of action. When a Promoter is present, things begin to happen: the lights come on, the music plays, the games begin. Clever and full of fun, Promoters live with a theatrical flourish which makes even the most routine events seem exciting. Not that they waste much time on routine events. In work and in play, Promoters demand new activities and new challenges. Bold and daring at heart, and ever-optimistic that things will go their way, Promoters will take tremendous risks to get what they want, and seem exhilarated by walking close to the edge of disaster. Because of this, they make the very best trouble-spot administrators and negotiators, and they can be outstanding entrepreneurs, able to swing deals and kick-start enterprises in a way no other type can. Promoters also have a hearty appetite for the finer things of life, the best food, the best wine, expensive cars, and fashionable clothes. And they are extremely sophisticated in social circles, knowing many, many people by name, and knowing how to say just the right thing to most everyone they meet. Charming, confident, and popular, Promoters delight their friends and investors with their endless supply of stories and jokes. At the same time, these smooth operators are usually something of a mystery to others. While they live in the moment and lend excitement - and unpredictability - to all their relationships, they rarely let anyone get really close to them. They have a low tolerance for authority and commitment, and are likely to leave situations where they are expected to toe the mark, or where they must play second fiddle. Promoters understand well the maxim, "He who travels fastest, travels alone," although they are not likely to be lonely for long, since their boldness and sense of adventure tends to make them highly attractive to many other people. Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Ernest Hemingway, John F. Kennedy, Donald Trump, Madonna, George C. Patton, Evita Peron, Winston Churchill, Grace Slick, and Teddy Roosevelt are examples of the Promoter Artisan temperament.
Extraverted Sensing Thinking Perceiving by Joe Butt Profile: ESTP Revision: 3.0 Date of Revision: 23 Feb 2005 ESTPs are spontaneous, active folks. Like the other SPs, ESTPs get great satisfaction from acting on their impulses. Activities involving great power, speed, thrill and risk are attractive to the ESTP. Chronic stifling of these impulses makes the ESTP feel "dead inside." Gamesmanship is the calling card of the ESTP. Persons of this type have a natural drive to best the competition. Some of the most successful salespersons are ESTPs. P.T. Barnum ("Never give a sucker an even break") illustrates the unscrupulous contingent of this type. Almost unconsciously the ESTP looks for nonverbal, nearly subliminal cues as to what makes her quarry "tick." Once she knows, she waits for just the right time to trump the unsuspecting victim's ace and glory in her conquest. Oddly enough, the ESTP seems to admire and respect anyone who can beat her at her own game. "If I was any better, I couldn't stand it!" To an ESTP, admission of weakness feels like failure. He admires strength in himself and in others. "Shock effect" is a favored technique of this type to get the attention of his audience. ESTPs love to be at center stage, demonstrating feats of wonder and daring. Famous ESTPs: Jacob (Esau's brother) - U.S. Presidents:
